  Antonaccio

Egidio Antonaccio is a realistic impressionist whose paintings express his love of
nature.  Most of his paintings are of gardens and paths; some are simple, some elaborate
but we always see multi-colored flowers of spring, summer or fall in his work.
Born in Castelluccio, Italy in 1954, he graduated from the Institute of Fine Art
in 1973 in Castrovillari, Italy.  Then in 1978, he graduated with honors from the
academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, and later came to the United States where he
has developed a following of collectors.
His technique is light and delicate and his themes are romantic and gentle; each
painting evokes feelings of strength, grace and wonderment.  He has always been and
continues to be open to new influences in his painting.  The manipulation of light from
the impressionist school, the landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the view that
he sees outside his garden window all influence his work.  But whatever his intention or
message to the viewer, each artwork comes from the heart of Antonaccio, his legacy to
this generation and those yet to follow.
